Research in Action
We produce situated research, engaging with the realities of territories, communities, and diverse social actors across Latin America. We collaborate with civil society organisations, community actors, and public and private institutions to turn knowledge into projects and strategies aimed at addressing the region’s current challenges. Our goal is to foster creative, inclusive, and impactful responses that contribute to building more just and sustainable futures.
Youth Transitions to Labour Market
We investigate youth transitions between education and the world of work from a situated, plural perspective, through longitudinal studies. We develop qualitative and quantitative approaches to labour trajectories among young people in diverse populations.
We also incorporate statistical analyses, including the Index of Transitions for Disadvantaged Youth (ITeD), which enables comparisons across different countries in Latin America.
Education and Vocational Training
We conduct research on secondary education and technical and vocational training in Latin America.
Our projects aim to improve training systems and strengthen employability, addressing the inequalities that affect young people across diverse socioeconomic contexts.
Youth, Gender, and Transforming Family Regimes
We study transformations in family structures and gender regimes from a comparative and multidisciplinary perspective, with special attention to the care economy, intersectional inequalities, and the diverse ways in which families and communities organise everyday life.
Our research contributes analytical and empirical evidence to inform inclusive, equitable, and situated public policy, especially policies that strengthen care systems, reduce gender gaps, and recognise social and cultural diversities.
Digitalization, Technological Change and the Transformation of Work
We analyse how processes of digitalization, automation, and technological change are reshaping the organization of work and labour conditions.
From a critical perspective, we explore impacts on labour relations and rights protection, promoting strategies for more inclusive and sustainable development.
